Winter Painting Award!

Years ago I lived in Oxford, Michigan, a locale that I really enjoyed, and I came across this scenic view which caught my eye as I was driving around with camera in hand after a snowstorm. I've had the photo I took of the snowy scene that formed the basis of this painting tucked away in my "someday to paint" file for several years. I finally got around to painting this scene two years ago and recently entered it into a contest sponsored by Fine Art America. Much to my surprise my painting "Snowy Winter Blanket" was awarded third prize! I am very pleased to receive an award for this little gem that has great meaning to me.
Always hang on to those special photos that you tuck away that may become the inspiration for an award-winning work of art.
Enjoy this season!
Artfully yours,
